Our team is full! Please check back in spring 2026 for opportunities to join next season! Questions? Contact Coach Danny McCollough
Mounds View Bike Team is one of the largest teams in the Minnesota Cycling Association (MCA), and we've grown significantly over the years! The MCA establishes standards for student athlete training and safety, including minimum coach-to-rider ratios.
If your child will be entering 6th–12th grade in fall 2025 and is interested in joining, reach out to us at mvbiketeam@gmail.com. The first step is attending our Parent & Rider Meeting on May 6, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Mounds View High School.
Due to strong interest in joining our team, we use a registration waitlist for new riders. Each season, we assess how many riders are returning and how many coaches we'll have, which determines our total capacity and how many new riders we can welcome. We then send invitations in waitlist order until we reach that limit. While we'd love to include everyone, capacity constraints don't always make that possible.

The Team will hold some activities during May and June. Our Season starts in July and ends in October. Check out our schedule for more information.
Our Season starts in July. We will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Races are held on Saturdays (Middle School) and Sundays (High School) from August - October.
Students entering grades 6-12 in the fall and are part of District 621 or planning to attend Totino Grace High School.
We will have maintenance days to clean and tune the bikes. We do suggest using a bike shop for major repairs. The riders will be learning to maintain and repair their bikes as they go through the season.
We have several volunteer roles for parents/guardians. There is a place for everyone. We need your skills and passion!
There are many ways you can help support the team, from bringing food and water on race day to helping with set up and take down of our tent - we will be looking for volunteers for non-bike related help too!
We are always in need of experienced assistant coaches. You will need to complete a background check through MCA. Contact mvbiketeam@gmail.com for more information.
We race against other middle and high school students at MCA races. There are many participating schools across the state and in Western Wisconsin. A full list can be found at minnesotacycling.org. Schools compete against other schools, and the students compete against other students.
Race locations and our participation vary each year. See our schedule for the current schedule and race locations.
Families arrange their own transportation.
We accept students as they come to us. We consider our program a "grass roots" racing program. We aim to help everyone meet their individual goals.
Everyone gets to race. Race results throughout the season qualify racers for the state race at the end of the season.
We have a well-developed and thought out program for training. Our Level 2 and Level 3 Coaches are current undergo CPR and First Aid Training every two years. We will be riding bikes. We cannot guarantee anyone's safety, including the coaches. We use best practices to ensure student safety, but we are on bikes and also sometimes on the public roads. We feel this is a safe program, otherwise we would not offer it, but we cannot guarantee anyone's safety.
